ABOUT ME
Ashes to Beauty is about taking something old, broken, chipped and rusty and bringing new life into it. My passion is transforming problem spaces for homeowners. I don't believe style has to cost a fortune to get the feel someone wants for their house. I like listening to the desires someone has for a space and come up with cost saving ideas to accomplish their wishes. The styles I do best in houses and pieces of furniture are Farmhouse, Industrial and Cottage Style.
Along with houses, I have a passion for re-purposing and refinishing pieces of furniture. I love making signature and standout pieces for a room. One piece can really set the tone in a room and bring character to that space.
I was born and raised in Texas and love the down home feel of the South. I've always had a creative bent and have done many different makeovers in rooms in my free time. Great ideas, hard work, faith and the support of my family are how I make it work.

Room Makeovers
My client wanted a cottage style in her home. I was able to keep the existing cabinet base and ordered Shaker style cabinet doors and painted them white. Marble looking laminate and a new sink were a good match to the style and budget. Gray subway tile with a complimenting dark gray grout were the finishing touches to this makeover.
The Entry wall to the same house needed to make a first impression and set the tone of the house.
In keeping with the cottage style theme of the kitchen, we decided to add
shiplap to the entry wall. In addition, I painted the table and chairs to fit the look we were going for.
The first thing I worked on in this kitchen was changing the color of the cabinets. I made it a brighter space with the white cabinets. I had four cabinet doors replaced with glass inserts making it more updated. My son and I built a header and added crown molding to fill the empty space above the cabinets. I moved onto adding a subway tile back splash to the design. The kitchen was finished off with a butcher block on the island top along with painting it turquoise for a warm feel.
This standard builder grade shower in the master bath needed an upgrade.
The shower space was enlarged by tearing down one wall and moving the studs. New backer-board was installed. Large white tiles were placed on the wall with a decorative brown tile to add some color to the space. A frameless glass door was installed for a finished look.
Master bedroom needed a lighter color on all the walls.
All the bedroom walls were painted a soft white color. Shiplap was added to give it a peaceful timeless feel in this space.
This backyard patio needs an inviting space to entertain guests.
Flagstone was added to existing concrete base and then extended to make it a larger space for entertaining.
This bar was plain and boring.
Shiplap taken from an old house and barn were wrapped around the bar to give it a rustic feel.
Concrete stain was painted on the outside door steps. Over time the paint flaked off.
Flagstone was placed onto the existing cement for a lasting look.
